Delete your account

Last updated 9 October 2026

Short version

in the app
or the console
or by email

You can delete your own Hoot Fleet account yourself, without writing to anyone. This page says how, what happens, and what is kept afterwards.

1. In the app or the console

In the Hoot Fleet Delivery app, open Profile and tap Delete your account. In the web console: open the menu under your name, choose My profile, then Delete your account.

Before anything happens, the app or the console tells you what deleting your account will do in your case, and asks you to confirm.

2. What happens at once

Deleting your account signs you out on every phone and computer at once. It deletes your sign-in, unless you use the same sign-in for another organisation's workspace, which keeps working. It removes your email address, phone number, home address and profile photo from your account. The app stops sharing your location. And the people who manage your organisation's users are told.

If you drive, your driver record is retired too: your vehicle is released, your open jobs go back to dispatch, and a shift you left open is closed at that moment, for your manager to check.

3. What your organisation keeps

The record of the work you did — trips, deliveries, proof of delivery, safety events, time cards and audit-log entries — is your organisation's record, and it keeps your name against it, as it does when a driver is removed. How long that lasts is set out in section 5 of our privacy policy: operational history can be read for the window your organisation's plan provides, 30 days on Solo, 90 days on Deliver, 365 days on the vehicle-tracking plan, or a period agreed in writing. Audit-log entries are kept for one year. A file that is removed leaves our storage about 90 days later.

4. If you're the only person in your workspace

If nobody else can sign in to your workspace, you're the only person in it, and deleting your account closes the workspace too. The workspace's data is deleted automatically within 30 days, and we email you when it's done.

A self-serve plan that is still running ends now, and the unused part of the period isn't refunded. The console shows you the unused amount before you confirm; the app tells you the plan ends now, with no refund. If you paid in euros, you may also receive a confirmation from Link, which processed your payment.

Some workspaces need a person to look first. If yours has tracking devices, drivers without their own sign-in, open driver invitations, or a contract or a plan we arranged with you, or a payment that is still open or clearing, your deletion is sent to us as a request: a person checks it with you first, and you stay signed in until then. We then delete your account and your workspace's data within 30 days, and email you when it's done.

5. If you're the only admin but others use the workspace

If you're the only administrator and other people still sign in to the workspace, your account can't be deleted on its own: make someone else an admin first. Or email support@hootfleet.com to have the whole workspace closed.

6. What we keep

We keep the records we must for accounting and tax, such as invoices and our own records of how the account's billing was handled, for 7 years. When a workspace closes, we also keep the address of the person who closed it until we have emailed them that its data is deleted, and no longer than a week after the 30 days.

If a workspace started a free trial, we keep a one-way scrambled form (a keyed hash) of the email address that started it, so that each mailbox gets one free trial, and the same of a card's fingerprint if a card was added. Neither can be turned back into the address or the card. We keep them for 12 months after the account is deleted, then delete them.

7. If you can't sign in

Email support@hootfleet.com from the address on your account, naming your organisation. We reply within 5 business days, pass your request to your organisation, and tell you in writing when it's done. If your organisation hasn't acted within 30 days, tell us and we'll follow it up.

If you manage your organisation's people and want to remove someone else, use Drivers → Remove or Users → Remove in the console.
